This past summer I was lucky to live beautiful experiences at festivals across France and meet beautiful souls along the way.
Last week was no different as I joined the staff team of La Pétillante as the yoga teacher for that week as I offered a Yin yoga class every morning in a holiday camp not far from me. La Pétillante holidays is a concept I only discovered this summer in France. People come on holidays in a place where they can attend several workshops per day to discover new activities and work on themselves. There is no obligation to do anything, you can relax by the pool anytime you want to.
The main goal of this place is self-development and growth and what an amazing idea! As a workshop leader I gave a Yin yoga class every morning and then I was able to attend all the workshops in my free time.
The other workshops on offer varied from terpsichore massages, aquarelle painting, bio-danza, permaculture, energetic healing, qi-gong and others I don't remember!
The workshops are spread throughout the day but some are at the same time so you have to choose which one to attend which can be difficult as everything on offer is so interesting.
Apparently there are 3 places like this one in France, the others are bigger than La Pétillante.
These holiday places are also a fantastic way to meet like minded people who want to learn something new, grow, heal and have a laugh at the same time and God knows we had a laugh! At dinner we were all eating together so it was a great way to get to know each other even better.
After each yoga class, I joined as many other workshops as possible and I had a blast! I learnt about permaculture, how to improve my communication, I did some aquarelle painting, I moved my body at the bio-danza and mid-week we did a great hike in the nearby mountains (see photo). Lovely Jean-Philippe, a keen photographer was there to do a photo shoot of me in the mountains so you will have the opportunity to view his beautiful shots of me in yoga poses!
Most of the students that week who came to my class had never practiced yoga in their life before or never a Yin yoga class but they all came back and the number of students grew every day which warmed my heart. Their feedback was so kind that it motivates me to carry on doing what I love: teach yoga classes!
Everybody got on really well during those 7 days, many became friends and tears were shed when it was time to leave. I also made new friends and beautiful connexions that week.
It certainly was a beautiful experience that I want to repeat next year.
I am grateful for this new beautiful experience and can't wait to return next year!
If you are interested in attending such amazing holiday places, let me know and I will point in the right direction.
